2016 Toyota Tundra

2016 Toyota Tundra - Washington Auto Mall - Washington, PA

The Tundra is Toyota’s full-size pickup. For model year 2016 every Tundra trim got an upgraded electronics interface with the upper trim levels getting a larger gas tank and standard integrated trailer brake control. The Tundra comes in three cab styles: regular cab, extended "double" cab and "CrewMax" crew cab. Each cab not only has plenty of stretch out legroom but also offers the pleasure of a reclining seatback.

The Tundra’s double cab is one of the most roomy extended cabs on the market.  The CrewMax really can handle a crew comfortably and the regular cab sets the luxury bar for the segment. Resale value for the Tundra is best in the segment.

For all trims some of the standard features include: dual zone air conditioning with individual temperature controls for driver and passenger, AM/FM and MP3 capable CD player, six speakers, SiriusXM Radio, an auxiliary audio input jack for your own portable devices and 12V auxiliary power outlets. Optional stereo upgrades were of course available.

For 2016 some of the options packaging were slightly reconfigured. The SR5 and 1794 Editions got a lightly modified front end styling and the 1794 can now be equipped with the TRD Off-Road package.

There are two wheelbases and three bed lengths, the 5.5-foot short bed, 6.5-foot standard bed and 8.1-foot long bed. The Tundra bed is a hard worker with a solid rear suspension up to the task of pretty much any hauling job you can throw at it.

Depending on which seating layout you opt for, the Double Cab and CrewMax can seat 5 with buckets up front or 6 with the traditional front bench. The regular cab seats three adults comfortably with its expansive bench. Depending on which configuration you choose, there are six trim levels for the Tundra: SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition and TRD Pro. The availability of some options or packages can vary based on the region in which you live.

The available Tundra trim levels for 2016 were wide-ranging with options from the Tundra 2WD, with the two-wheel drive regular cab truck, a standard bed and a V6 engine being what might be considered the base model up to the top of the line TRD Pro for off road and the work horse Platinum trims. And within those trims various option packages were on offer. Fitted with the TRD Off-Road package, the 2016 Toyota Tundra Limited is one of the more capable light-duty trucks off road.

Note that There are three engines available for the Toyota Tundra 2WD: a 4.0-liter V6 engine; next up is a 4.6-liter aluminum i-FORCE V8 engine  and the top of the line 5.7-liter aluminum i-FORCE V8.

The Tundra’s amazing turning radius, ample and modern interior space, comfortable seating and tow capacity all add up to make it a pleasure to drive in city, country and off road. With the 2016 Toyota Tundra, you are getting a powerful, roomy, reliable, serious working truck that will never let you down.
